Hi all. We're looking to recruit an artist who works with open source hardware for our residency program, so hoped that you might be able to spread the word.
Public Knowledge (my organization) has teamed up with Eyebeam for the 6 month program with a $5,000 stipend. At its core, the idea is to take some of the great hardware that PK's work impacts - like open source hardware and 3D printing - and use it to raise awareness about all of the issues - too many to list, but things like copyright reform and net neutrality - that we work on. We're not looking for an explainer or a literal walkthough of the issue necessarily. Rather, we're hoping to find a project that gives people a way to think about the issue.
We're super excited about the project, and I hope that it interests at least some of the people on this list. I encourage you to check out the call
