I regularly create DCPs (using my own software) and After FX.
To export images in the correct format for a DCP... do the following.
AfterEffects Project Settings -> Select 16bit (Not 8bit) and set the
Colour space to Adobe RGB 1998 or what ever you are using.
In the render settings, ensure you select tif files as the output and
then trillions of colours. In Color management, select DCDM XYZ (Gamma
2.6)
You will then output 16bpp Tif files in the DCI compliant XYZ colour
space.
I have now written my own utility that will take any format (well
most!) 8bpp image and convert it to XYZ colourspace automatically! It
supports 6 different RGB colour spaces for the source image, and I can
add more as needed easily!
I tested it the other day at the cinema with a 3D Stereoscopic promo
we did and it worked a treat!
