I would really appreciate if you integrate a checkbox which give the
user the choice to use the password-field for the master-password or a
normal text-field. On keyring you could toggle between both during
input your password.
If you have long password (which I think is recommended for security)
it's otherwise a pain to enter the password.

Furthermore after entering the password, all your private secrets are
shown in clear text, so you always should only enter the password if
no one can look on your device.

Hope this is the right place, didn't found a bug tracker.

Because some tools like Swype try to learn new words, this approach is
difficult. Perhaps a teaser to show the password is a solution.

What if you increase the delay before the character turns into a dot?

Right now the way it works is, the previous character turns into a dot
as soon as you enter the next character, or after a delay of 1-2
seconds. Would it be what you're looking for if that delay is
increased to about 5 seconds, and the threshold of characters that
should be entered for the previous one to be masked is increased from
1 to 5?

I think the method above can be implemented by making a new
TransformationMethod by subclassing PasswordTransformationMethod() and
then applying setTransformationMethod() on the EditText containing the
password.

Well this would help, but I'm unsure how much letters are a good
choice? I would prefer to have a possibility to see the whole password
in clear text.

The best place to put feature requests is here:
http://openintents.uservoice.com

Students can also browse through the ideas over there to look for
inspiration for possible patches ;-)
