I like the logo. At least it is much better than the current one, so I
replaced it on the homepage:
http://www.openintents.org/
I took the opportunity to update the somewhat neglected homepage, that
I'll announce in a separate thread.
Some remarks regarding the logo:
* The letters in Open and Intents have different fonts. This is
somewhat irritating. The same font - and possibliy capitalized, may be
nicer. Two different gray colors is fine.
* Yes, the O in Open looks a little bit big, but for the splash screen
that is fine.
* The mobile in Intents is a nice idea that makes immediately clear
what Intents are. In a logo, it could be a bit restrictive though, as
in the future Android may not only run on mobiles of that particular
shape, but may be found in displays on all different kinds, like
watches or the fridge (even though this will not happen soon - but one
would like to keep the flexibility ;-) )
* For the website, a small logo version would be nice. For now I just
took the crystal ball, but this may be too general, so the O and I
should be somehow in the logo. Maybe make it small enough that both
fits together, and make the O smaller compared to the I.
* Is the "O" in "One solution" big on purpose? looks strange at first
sight, but may refer to the "O" in OpenIntents.
* Yes, a better slogan may not be bad, but I can't think of any right
now. "Apps" is too computer-related. In the end, it is really not the
technicalities, but the user that counts. The user wants this or that.
He does not care if it is an application or a collection of intents
that does what he wants. It is like the phone should know what the
user wants. Something like "Lets you do what you want".. or "Get what
you want".. ok, these may also not be the best.. maybe too vague?
Ok, so far so good :-) Any comments or suggestions on my comments are
also welcome :-)
