Hi,
I gladly inform you that we've got three slots in GSoC 2008[1], third one
luckly obtained in the final free slots distribution. Rest of the slots
From final distribution went to the big, well-known organizations, such
as GCC or Python Software Foundation, so we may consider it as a good
sign for our small and young project :)
Such amount of slots means that all of the students who submitted
application to our project are in, except Alexey Zaitsev, who
voluntarily went to the PSU project[2].
I congratulate Alexander Egorov (porting FBReader), Ondřej Herman
(Cybook Gen3 support) and Wenjie Zhang (Sony PRS-505 support) with the
successful application.
I will be mentoring Alexander, and Yauhen Kharuzhy (jekhor) will mentor
Ondřej and Wenjie.
While program officially starts at 26 May, I propose to schedule an IRC
meeting this week (Alexander, Yauhen, Ondřej, Wenjie - please propose
time) to iron out all necessary organizational issues.
As all our students are in touch with rest of team on IRC, I do not need
to reiterate about teamwork and such. Just have in mind that mentoring
is more administrative function, so if you need some advice, you're
encouraged to ask help from the community first.
