manager.discover(userSuppliedString) returning zero elements

I just started using your product this evening and paid my $25.00
through PayPal! :)
When I step through the code in my debugger, I see that
manager.discover(userSuppliedString) is returning an empty List. As
the following line of code is executed, a NPE is being thrown as a
result. Do you have any tips you could share.
AuthRequest authReq = manager.authenticate(discovered, returnToUrl);
