You may recall I column I wrote some months ago on the need for a
transpartisan political movement. Now, check out the agenda for this upcoming conference hosted by the John Locke Foundation and the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership on the Internet and politics. By the way, I'm not connected with the Locke folks and I just heard about this conference this morning.

Candidates
for next year's presidential nominations have already raised tens of
millions of dollars on the web. And the number of voters who say they
get most of their news from the Internet has doubled since the last
election cycle. There's a revolution underway in American politics –
and North Carolina is no exception.
How are blogs affecting the
political conversation? What opportunities and challenges do the new
technologies present to the mainstream news media? How are Democratic
and Republican campaign strategists adapting?
You'll find
answers to these and other questions at "Spinning the Web: Politics in
the Internet Age," a conference to be held on Saturday, Sept 8 at the
Hilton-Research Triangle Park and co-hosted by the N.C. Institute of
Political Leadership and the John Locke Foundation.
