Work order: Backup your data and you won't regret

It was likely you accidentally deleted the working directory. Just
remind you, it is basic business practice to backup your data (make
extra copy of the data and store it somewhere else), and OC has
supported variety of backup methods. Even if you decide to use
spreadsheet, I wish you may grow a habit of backing up data.... more »

Convert people to companies

...Go to [Main menu -> Layouts] and select "People and Companies", and
you can record a company.
To convert a personal contact to organizational contact, select the
contact in the People list, and run [Main menu -> Tools -> Convert
selected people to companies].

Glad you sorted out such hardware problem, you are certainly better
than many system engineers graduated from a few certificate training
courses.

Quick View (Work order)

...The Quick View window is basically an embedded Internet Explorer,
which might follow the default encoding scheme of IE. You just need to
right click on the View, in the Popup menu, select encoding -> Unicode
(UTF8).

Thanks for prompting the bug. We just improve the error handling for
importing Outlook contacts. When an error occurs, it will capture the
error, and go on. At the end, you will see an error message
indicating which contacts were having problem, in this case, you may
find out which contacts may contain invalid character and fix it in... more »

Q&A
Q: I'm German and as you know, we use "umlaute" in our language
(ü,ä,ö). Entering the data everything seems to be ok, but if I'd like
to use the quickview, then I just see strange characters instead of
the umlaute.
