Subject: GAE delpoyment, any gotchas I should know about?
I figured it's about time for me to look into Google App Engine and
how to deploy apps there for myself and clients.
I know there's a checkbox in OpenBD Desktop Server 2.0.2 for choosing
runtime engine, but I wanted to ask before diving in at the deep end,
are there any gotchas, workarounds, bugs, or something else I should
know before I delve into it?

Some of the projects I'm working on, it would be nice to be able to
tell people that if you want to try it out, or use with your existing
website, you could just pop it up on GAE and use subdomain with CNAME
(forums.yourwebsite.com).

Any advice would be welcome!

I'm pretty sure that support for GAE has been removed. Any checkbox or
mention you might see is vestigial.

The issue goes back to this bug in their engine:
http://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=5898

They've since closed it "due to inability to repro". So I think Alan W's
totally done with them.

Allright, thanks Alan.
I'll go look at Jelastic again then, too bad they're not free anymore.

There's also cloudbees.
I'm using their free stuff to deploy some trial wars from my desktop
version - using their free cloud mySql too. Seems nice so far.
