Thanks Matthew. Are there any designers in this group? I would need a few images of the party flags. For now, I am using the images from Google and they look clumsy. Please take a look at the screen shot.

Shall keep you posted on how this app goes.

Cheers

    Hi Priju,

Yes, you're right. There are no APIs to post comments and I doubt it would

    Hi Folks,

I came across the OpenAustralia community and its open webservice API's.
Infact, Henare, connected me here to this group.

there are reasonable party logo images available on wikipedia

You'll want one for independents too :-)

Are you ok to resize and output yourself or do you want a hand with that? If so please provide specification & resolution required.

cheers,
Kat

Hi Kat,

Thats where I picked up the images from. They were resized using a photo editor tool. But after resizing its just lost its sharpness. To add-on, the images in wikipedia are not of the same size. They are all of different sizes. So again, when resized, the aspect ratio was lost.

Have one for the independent candidates. The same image would go for the speaker and deputy speaker. Or should they have something different?

Lemme check what can be done otherwise. Shall let you know if I need some hand. Thank you very much!

Cheers.

hmm. sounds like you need a way to do a little better image manipulation. If you want to do this yourself then compare the different filters available when you resize in what ever program you're using. Otherwise I am fine to do this for you, have those skills & software. Please send specification of resolution & format you wish for and I'll fix em up.

As I am a member of the QLD Greens and used to do the website I think I still have a high res version of their logo somewhere if that is helpful to you.

Steve

Hi Kat & Steve,

Thnks for that.

The current view size is 50dp x 30dp. If I get the images of this size, it should fit in. I am looking for a consistent width and height across all party logo's and they should be of PNG format. Android takes in a nine patch image format. I can convert the PNG's to Nine patch.

The ones which i got from wikipedia are not consistent in width n height. If the look and feel needs improvement, we can work on it then. I hope you agree with you.

Cheers.

Hi

Here are 50x30 pixels png files based on party logos for you or anyone else who might find them handy.

These images are almost all just direct resizes of image files propagated by the parties themselves + a few pixels padding extending the colour at the sides where necessary, with the exception of the Labor image which I recreated to make the word Australian slightly more identifiable if not entirely legible at this image resolution.

cheers, Kat

The greens one isn't their logo.  They have a page at http://greens.org.au/greens-logos
