Hi all,
I plan to update DeepskyLog to version 2.1 of OAL very soon. Can somebody
tell me where I can download the latest scheme definitions? I can not find
it anymore in the google groups site...

Thanks for the reply. My structure looks like this:

./oal21.xsd
./base/oal_Base.xsd
./extensions/<all21Extensions>

I think this was the same as OAL20?? Anyway, I'll look forward to an
example file to test against.

Hi Phyllis,
I just added OAL2.1 into the new OM version and just faced the same problem.
I also changed the file structure, so that it fits me needs.
./oal20.xsd
./openastronomylog20/base/oal_ Base.xsd
./openastronomylog20/extension s/<all20Extensions>
./oal21.xsd
./openastronomylog21/base/oal_ Base.xsd

All,

I have completed support for OAL 2.1 and have two other thoughts:

1) The directory structure change affects oal21.xsd and each of the
extension schema files (ext_DeepSky.xsd, ext_imaging.xsd,
ext_SolarSystem.xsd, ext_VariableStars.xsd). For my own purposes, I
have modified all affected files and changed the structure to match

I have started to add support for OAL2.1 in Deep-Sky Planner and I
have a question about the file oal21.xsd.

The path in each include statement assumes a different directory
structure than oal20.xsd. I have changed this in the oal21.xsd that I
plan to ship with my product, and I wonder how others feel about

Hi all,

I have uploaded the new OAL 2.1 Schema in our Google Code OAL project.
As announced, there are no changes beside the introduction of the
<image> children for a <session>.

To assure downward compatibility, U have attached a transform to
convert an OAL 2.1 document into OAL 2.0. This is trivial, of course.

thanks for your replies.

@Dirk: I think of downloaded weather satellite images, a panorama of a
new site, a map to find a site, a group picture of happy observers or
a simple astro photo like a wide field Milky Way shot. Probably there
are much more useful options for images to accompany sessions.

Since the element is optional, it certainly won't break existing code
(good)! But, how does one use the new field? Are there some implied
rules for a string that describes images for a session?
