In this session, Neependra Khare aims to give you the confidence of compiling a Linux kernel. After a detailed overview of the kernel and why compilation is necessary, he shares the tidbits on history and legal aspects of Linux. Needless to say, the session touches upon deeper aspects of technology, such as architecture, programming language and portability.
Neependra demonstrates the compilation procedure step-by-step and takes us in detail through all the entries in the /boot directory. It can be your first leap towards understanding Linux Kernel internals. For you to make the most of it, Neependra expects you to be familiar with Linux.
