Introductions
Robin Cover
Director of Information Services at OASIS [1], but for the purpose
of this OWF list: (a) any of my institutional affiliations are
irrelevant because I am not representing them in any way; (b) I
am an advocate for legally unencumbered open standards in the
domain of structured information [2].
I think I understand the motivations for the formation of the
Open Web Foundation. I support its goals and will endeavor to
help the organization succeed in playing a valuable role consistent
with its charter.
I have published an article about the Open Web Foundation for
the Cover Pages web site ( http://xml.coverpages.org/owf.html )
and invite comments for improvement, maintenance, correction, etc.
The list of specification development initiatives I cataloged
for the article [3] was gleaned from reading the personal
introduction from subscribers to the OWF Discussion List, and
testifies to the growing importance of these activities, and
(IMO) to the need for exploration of new ideas already identified
in the OWF charter.
