does anyone know if the interface works with ola under linux?
And one more question:
I'm planning a 19" hardware solution for a 4 universes artnetnode with OLA.
As a hardware platform I would use a Alix board with a500Mhz CPU.
you think this is enough for the four universes?

Unlikely. I found linux drivers here: https://github.com/fx5/usbdmx .
So it's just a matter of writing similar code in OLA to handle it and
testing.

I think it should be fine, but it does depend on what usb devices you're using.

But I´m not an programmer i have no idea to write a driver for OLA.
Maybe I take then four open DMX Interfaces this cost about 50€ without
the box.
It about the same Price but no DMX Input no external Powersupply and
more to do for the CPU.
In my company i have two enttec pro interface and i love it but for
this projekt the are to expensive for me.
Do you now about an other Interface that runs with OLA and have no
FTDI and an DMX input?
greetings
Michael
oh and sorry for my bad english ;-)
I believe that is the case. The only other DMX in units that are
supported are the Enttec Pro and the Robe Widget.

I'd recommend against this. The open DMX USB interfaces are *really*
basic and I wouldn't use them for anything serious.

No. I'm curious why you don't want to use the FTDI driver though.
If you can get a unit to me I'll write a driver for it. You may want
to email the manufacturer, point them at the Open Lighting Project and
ask them to donate hardware. Quite often they are more than happy to
do this.
