Hi @ all,

at the moment i trying to get the Arduino RGB Mixer to work with my OLA running on an Ubuntu in an VM-ware on Windows 7 ;-)
the Arduino Code compiled nice - but now i dont get Ola or even the Ubuntu to recognize the USB Seriell Thing.
in VM i checked that the  ftdi is Connected to the Ubuntu - that should be fine...
QLC 'finds' the device but also cant control it ( I see no leds dimming)
 --> I Set Output Univers 1 to the Enttec DMX USB Output - 1: FT232R USB UART (S/N: A800eJQ7)
--> then added six Generic Dimmerchannels on Univers 1 and tried to change the value on the console Tab ( in the Fixtures Dialog)

I have tried the same on an Mac OS X 10.6.8 (thanks to my mum for let me testing :-) ) with the QLC-3.2.0-1.dmg and the OLA 0.8.6-1.dmg.
at the mac i tried with ola_dev_info - but there are only the network and the dummy Device listed - no USB.

Is there something i have missunderstud or skiped at reading?
hope i have explained clear enough ;-)
and one of you guys can help me to get it running :-)

sunny greatings
Stefan

Did you disable the auto-reset with the 110 ohm resistor?

yes - auto reset is disabled and the serial led is 'flashing' (its more continuous lighting)  when i tried it with qlc

Ok i have played around a little bit  and have found the following information in the terminal when i hit the Reload Plugins Button in the Webfrontend:

....
PluginManager.cpp:74: Trying to start Enttec USB Pro
UsbProPlugin.cpp:322: Found potential USB Pro like device at /dev/ttyUSB0
PluginManager.cpp:78: Started Enttec USB Pro
PluginManager.cpp:74: Trying to start Pathport
DeviceManager.cpp:110: Installed device: Pathport [192.168.178.22]:9-1
PortManager.cpp:151: Patched 9-1-I-0 to universe 9
PluginManager.cpp:78: Started Pathport
WidgetDetector.cpp:192: Usb Widget didn't respond to messages, esta id 0, device id 0
SelectServer.cpp:498: Removed a disconnected descriptor from the select server

I guess that this means - he finds the device but did not get an correct  answer?
Is there an possibility to get into this and test just the answer?

Yes, OLA is sending a SERIAL message request but the device isn't
responding. What Arduino device are you using? I think some of the
newer devices don't require the resistor.

If you've built from source you can change
plugins/usbpro/UsbWidget.cpp and add some OLA_INFO << . .. statements
to see if the widget is returning anything. I suspect the widget is
auto-resetting though.
