Dear friends and colleagues,

If you are in town, please check out my new project "The Immediate History of 14th Street", which is up all along 14th Street - from Ave C to 10th Ave - as part of the AiOP 2009: SIGN festival until 10/26/2009.

The Immediate History of 14th Street
A map and window signs display
stories recounted by the people - shop owners, vendors and workers -
who spend nearly every day on 14th Street. Locals who are the street's
public face contribute to the memory and recent history of 14th Street,
sharing individual stories of change and continuity that complement
existing historical, architectural and political histories.

To
print a map, visit the link below. Print on legal paper and fold in
half vertically. Then take a walk along 14th Street and visit the
storefronts indicated on the map and read their stories.
