Universities support the dissemination of their faculty research with funding for OA

Thought some of you might be interested in seeing that a number of research universities (most recently UC Berkeley) http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/brii/ are supporting authors fees for OA.  For more information see the note below from Karla Hahn, Director, Office of Scholarly Comm., ARL

This is another instance of an institution recognizing the value of supporting dissemination of their faculty's research in open access journals. Berkeley joins a few other institutions offering this kind of support, including UNC Chapel Hill and Wisconsin. Details including a pdf of the announcement are available at www.lib.berkeley.edu/brii
