As you know by now, we're raising money to place ads on the back page
of the free Metro daily newspaper here in New York City. These will be
color ads, and we hope to run at least two within a few days to a week
of each other in early/mid July.

Feel free to ask questions, discuss strategy, help promote the idea,
come up with new ideas, and brainstorm using this group.

Thanks,
Ben

Do you have anything yet on the ad text?

We have the basic theme, "Free Software for a Free People" and on top
of that, it will probably be very simple and straightforward. A link to
www.openoffice.org and a link to www.neooffice.org for Mac users.

Do you have some suggestions or ideas for our ad design and the text?
Please share them with this list!

Thanks.

I'll start tossing it around my brain and see what I can come up with.
How many words do we have to work with, roughly?

It's probably best to keep the ad as simple as possible with regard
to the text. In total, maybe one to two paragraphs of text, but they
won't appear as full paragraphs--they'll be made into bullets or
individual lines and spread out over the page, which is about 12"
wide by 18" tall, I think.
