Hells Angel Gets 9 Yr Sentence For Being Part Of A Criminal Enterprise

Gerald "Skinny" Ward, 61, was found guilty in December of instructing
others to commit an offence on behalf of a criminal organization after
Justice John McMahon found the Hells Angels fit that description.
Ward had already pleaded guilty last September to trafficking cocaine
and possessing the proceeds of crime -- $304,000 cash found in his
home after his arrest in September 2006.
Ward directed five associates to deliver four kilograms of high-grade
cocaine between August 2005 and February 2006 to Steve Gault, a former
member of the Oshawa chapter.
Gault has already pleaded guilty to his role.
McMahon said Ward's actions warranted a 14-year sentence but gave him
two-for-one credit for his time served in pretrial custody.
He received six years for the criminal organization charge plus three
years for trafficking. The sentences are to be served consecutively,
the judge ruled.
Ward gave a slight wave to a few family and friends in the courtroom
as he was taken away to begin serving his sentence.
The culmination of Ward's trial brings to an end Project Tandem which
saw 21 people prosecuted, including 13 full-patch bike club members,
after a major southern Ontario drug sweep in September 2006.
Federal prosecutor Tom Andreopoulos said credit for the quick
procession of the charges through the criminal courts is due to the
solid work of everyone involved.
"Excellent police work and (the prosecutors') 30 years combined
experience allowed us to get this done in a record 21/2 years,"
Andreopoulos said outside court.
Project Tandem raids originally nabbed 27 people but charges against
three were later stayed or dropped.
Led by the OPP's Biker Enforcement Unit, the raids netted about $1
million in cash, jewelry, cars and motorcycles along with a number of
weapons.
Police also seized drugs with a street value of $3 million, including
cocaine, crystal meth, ecstasy and marijuana.
Court heard that Ward was getting his drugs from Montreal and he
boasted about the purity of the cocaine at around 90%.
Ward was involved in the founding of the Hells Angels chapter in the
Niagara Region and was one of the part-owners of the clubhouse.

A hit man turned informant helped police arrest 10 people suspected in
the deaths and attempted killings of dozens of people during Quebec's
biker wars.
Quebec provincial police made the arrests Thursday in Trois-Rivières,
Warwick, St-Jérome and Quebec City. Officers also raided a federal
prison in Donnaconna, near Quebec City.
Investigators are still looking for an 11th person, a woman, as part
of the investigation dubbed Operation Baladeur.
Police allege the suspects all had links to the Hells Angels, the Rock
Machine or the West End Gang.
Police believe the suspects either ordered or carried out the killings
of 28 people between 1978 and 2003. Some of the suspects are also
allegedly linked to 13 attempted killings during the same period of
time.
One of the people arrested on Thursday is facing murder charges in
connection with 16 deaths.
Critical to making the arrests, said police, was information provided
by a former contract killer named Gérald Gallant who is currently
serving a life sentence in a Quebec jail.
"Gérald Gallant is a major player in this investigation," said Quebec
provincial police Lt. François Doré in Quebec City on Thursday.
Hit man led police to open cold cases
Gallant is a self-confessed hit man who once worked for a member of
the West End Gang.
Former crime journalist Michel Auger, who wrote about organized crime
for Le Journal de Montreal, said the story behind Gallant and
Operation Baladeur is worthy of a movie.
Gallant was arrested in Switzerland three years ago.
"He was wanted by police there for small fraud, credit card fraud. He
revealed to the astonishment of the police officers there that he was
a contract killer in Quebec," said Auger.
"The police were advised here, and the investigation started that
way."
In February 2008, a Quebec court convicted Gallant of first-degree
murder in the death of Yvon Daigneault, the owner of a bar in
Sainte-Adèle in Quebec's Laurentian Mountains in 2001.
Gallant was also convicted of attempted murder in the shooting of
Michel Paquette, a client in the tavern.
Gallant is currently serving a life sentence without a chance of
parole for 25 years.
Investigation includes attempted killing of Hells associate
Some high-profile names are among those arrested, including Raymond
Desfossés, an alleged high-ranking member of the West End Gang, and
Frédéric Faucher, who police say is a former leader of the Rock
Machine.
Auger remembers many of the cases connected to Operation Baladeur,
among them the attempted killing of a close associate of former Hells
Angels boss Maurice Boucher.
"[The associate] saved his life by taking a waitress as a shield. The
woman, Hélène Brunet, was shot in the arm and the leg," said Auger.
The suspects arrested in Operation Baladeur were to be arraigned via
videoconference on Thursday.
Doré said the operation should send a message to people involved in
organized crime today.
"Time will not go against the police forces," he said. "This is a
strong message to any criminal organization."

The White Rock chapter Sgt.Of Arms, Villy Roy Lynnerup, recently was
arrested for trying to board an airplane at YVR
with a loaded firearm. Was probably going to crash the plane into the
Downtown courthouse or hold the passengers hostage in exchange for

release of Moms Boucher and all imprisoned full patch members. All
the
Hell's Angels, their supporters, associates etc. should be imprisoned
for twenty years

Ppl are trying to get HAMC listed as a terrorist org. If you support

then write letters to editors of local newspapers and your local MP.
As well John Les the solicitor-general of BC before he resigned has
advocated banning
the wearing of gang colours such as biker patches in bars. Perhaps
John VanDongen can finish the job he started. Since HA
is
known to frequent Brandi’s and the Cecil and has links to
various bars in BC that would be an improvement. The gang has a
history of intimidating
bartenders, infiltrating unions involved in the bar industry, beating
and killing strippers and beating customers to death at random for no
reason. Contact your MLA as well as the local media and tell them you
want this implemented sooner rather than later.
VPD is appealing again for info about the homicide of Maria Yvette
Monzon who was shot dead on the westside of Vancouver. She was killed
by HA but the police have never stated that. There is a reward.
Colleen Reiter (Ryder?) of Surrey was killed by HAMC but the RCMP
refuse to confirm this.

You know, for the general part, I find that hard to
"swallow"....HAMC mostly heroin, this other stuff is what they sell to pay
for their smack habits....
The police confiscate what.....all sorts of stuff, and they don't
find heroin/china white? Something is wrong with all of these hundreds of
HAMC raid reports........where did the smack go?
