Hi Folks,

thanks to everyone who came along to the Christmas dance on 2nd December. We had a fantastic turnout with many new faces!

Our next dance will be on Friday 13th January at The Fun Fed. We have fantastic group Bof! coming to play. Have a listen http://www.myspace.com/bofanost

there's a small chance we may have to change venue, so please watch out for emails in the new year.

Also, on Saturday 7th January the Soas French Folk Dance Society (which also I help to run) are putting on a Grand Midwinter Folk Ball in Hackney. There will be French and Breton dances from french groups Duo Expire and Moussaka. More info and ticket booking here:

   http://www.soasfrenchdance.org.uk/winter

Hope to see you at one or both of these events.

Have a great Christmas and see you in the New Year!

David

We had an absolutely super evening for our December Christmas Party evening. LOADS of people, loads of energy, loads of dancing - Christmas cake, mince pies and booze complemented the evening - and indeed complimented it J

The Quite Sad News L

But sadly, not long after we moved there, the Cloudesley Road hall has closed down and the FunFed have had to move to temporary accommodation.

The REALLY Good News J

I have booked the Primrose Hill Community Centre for Friday, 13 January 2012, from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. It’s just up the road from Cecil Sharp House. Map: Primrose Hill Community Centre Nearest tube, Chalk Farm. Free parking in Fitzroy Road and others from 6:00pm.

We have Bof! from Les Landes de Suffolk J Venez nombreux. See them at the Bury Bal website  http://www.burybal.com/index.htm and  http://www.myspace.com/bofanost And we have the regular On Bouge musicians.

Please don’t be late - we must stop at 10:00pm.

I’ve just had a card from Robert and Monique, friends in Belgium. He says: “2012 should be a sweet year - it’s deux mille douce!” (I’ll be happy to explain it when I see you J)

It’s all in the pronunciation. For example, there is a cartoon of a man in medieval costume and a man in modern costume, looking at his watch. The guy in medieval stuff says: “Je suis le duc de Nevers.” The other guy says: “Mais c’est seulement huit heures et demie. Est-ce que vous pouvez revenir dans un demi-heure ? »

Ho Ho Ho ! Bonne Nouvelle Année.
