Hi all,

I have a problem with channelControl and radio module parameters. There are some parameters like carrier frequency that can be set in both places.

For example, what happens if I set the carrier frequency 2.4 GH in channelControl but 9in the radio module I set the bitrate and opmode, 54Mbps and a.
because if we set 54 Mbps bitrate for 802.11a, It needs 5 GH carrier frequency but it set 2.4 in channelControl.

What is the final results in this case?

Also, I have seen that we can individually set the carrier frequency for radio module but I did not find any parameters in ned file.

Thanks.

CannelControl uses the frequency to compute the interference distance only,

Thank alfonso.

So if I choose the 54 for bitrate and 802.11a in wlan. It must be use 5.4GHz carrier frequency by default? If no, How can I set the carrier frequency in ieee 802.11?

You can let 2.4 in the channelControl but you must set 5.4 in the interface node, because it is in the node were the received power and bit error are computed and both are dependents from the frequency.

And don’t use Trivellato table, this table is for 11g

So, You mean that the transmission range is shown in the output animation is not the correct transmission range? because it think it will be calculated based on the control channel parameters.
if i am right, How can i check the transmission range?

In inetmanet you can set the transmission distance in meters in the configuration

but I think in inet it is calculated based on carrier frequency and some other parameters. (channel control parameters)

If you set the parameter maxDistance the code sets the sensitivity and adjust it, in other case the code will use the sensitivity that is configured.
