OmegaT types are at it again.

These people don't seem to realize how silly they are being by
continually trying to trash OmegaT+. First, there is no such thing as
negative press. Of course, they should not be trying to spread lies,
as J.C. Helary does whenever he mentions anything about OmegaT+, but
when they do talk about OmegaT+ that is just more press and incentive
for people to check it out. And, of course, they do.

They must feel really threatened by OmegaT+ to harbor such attitudes.
Anyone who knows basic psychology can tell you that people usually
lash out like that when they have some kind of fear. What do they have
to fear from OmegaT+? According to the information they keep
spreading, OmegaT+ is broken, doesn't work, and is 2-3 years or more
behind OmegaT. It seems to work for me and my translator clients. If
it doesn't work for anybody, they can just let me know and it is going
to be fixed ASAP. Haven't got any messages thus far that it doesn't
work. What am I to think (after getting it to work on Linux, OS X,
Windows for myself)?

It all just seems like lies to me without sufficient information to
back up their claims. Oh yes, OmegaT+ 1.0M1 may in fact be 2-3 years
back, sort of. The upcoming M2 is probably about 1-2 years back. The
M3 version after that might be 0-1 years back (available in ~3-6
months). So what about M4, M5, a stable 1.0? If you can see a pattern
here you will deduce that it won't be behind at all.

This is what they are scared of. That OmegaT+ will be a possible
successor to OmegaT, a real challenge to what they think is there
rightful domain of ownership (this is FOSS isn't it?). That was part
of the point of calling it OmegaT+ because OmegaT development then and
now seems to be a real hack job, plus let's not forget that they don't
seem to want to adhere to the GPL license properly. What other
violations are they going to engage in for future versions?

To me, they just cannot be trusted to do the right things, in
development or with regard to legal matters (after all they did try to
steal my work on documentation and do not give any attribution for my
contributions and are violating the GPL presently).

I think this whole matter of feeling threatened on their part just
betrays their underlying motivations to not act in a righteous manner.
That is why they are fearful, because they themselves cannot be
trusted. Trustworthy people do not have fear, because they have faith
in themselves built upon strong well-intentioned character.
Trustworthy people are also willing to listen to critique and take
positive measures to resolve issues. They do not seem to be able to do
either.

Try an example, J.C. Helary has continually bashed me and OmegaT+ just
because he could not get control of what I do. He continually lies and
creates propaganda. He was on the OmegaT project when I got there,
then left in a tantrum, then he came back on. Then lies and propaganda
from him. Last year he insulted one of his own members on OmegaT and
soon after disappeared from the project and group. Now he is back on
the group. Talk about a wishy-washy not to be trusted character.

He is definitely not an asset for OmegaT, but apparently none of the
other OmegaT types seem to not have enough character to put their foot
down and get rid of that guy once and for all. Yeah, he made some
contributions. A crappy manual, lots of insults and complaints,
needless group messages that just inflate the message number. Hey
guys, there is something called the point of diminishing returns. That
guy is not really adding much to your project anymore. Time to know
when you should cut him loose. Oh, that would take reasoning ability
though and most of these OmegaT types seem to be running a little low
on that. So he will probably stay involved and they won't get much
from him besides more noise. He will keep spreading lies and I will
keep fighting back. The result will still be more press for OmegaT+
and with newer versions, more users.

So, way to reason things out OmegaT. Stay scared,
it is helping OmegaT+.
