Okay, I found a workaround for the accented characters bug in Mac OS <br> X. <br> <p>The bug is definitely due to bad Apple code in their Java <br> implementation. <br> Moreover, they have not given me any response to my bug report. <br> <p>Basically, Apple sort of sucks.
