Subject: Update 2013-05-31  Two important letters

1) For some time we have been challenging both Hydro and Fortis regarding the truthfulness and accuracy of their statements. Jerry Flynn has written to the President-CEO of Fortis challenging him and/or any of their “experts” to a public debate. His letter is attached. May I ask for you to share this with your MLAs, your local media, your friends? It’s time for these people to be confronted.

 

2) As for confrontation, many of us have challenged the Royal Society of Canada which has selected a panel to review Safety Code 6. I’ve shared with you letters I’ve written to the Royal Society about the members of this panel and the lack of transparency regarding the selection criteria of these people who will decide if science will prevail, or if the industry’s lobbying efforts will continue to prevent us from having any protection from what many experts say are dangerous levels of microwave radiation. The new national group, C4ST is now taken up the battle and attached is a letter from the CEO, former CEO of Microsoft Canada, Frank Clegg. He is asking for everyone to get involved by writing to your Member of Parliament about your concerns. Remember, even though Safety Code 6 is not a law and does not apply to wireless technology, Dr. Perry Kendall uses Safety Code 6 to justify our exposure to smeter radiation and children in schools to wifi.

 

Message From Frank Clegg, C4ST

 

C4ST, Citizens 4 Safe Technology, was created to raise awareness about the harmful effects of wireless radiation and protect Canadians by updating Safety Code 6. As you most likely know, Health Canada periodically reviews the radiation limits of Safety Code 6. As part of that review process, they submit their findings for an independent, external review. The Royal Society of Canada has been chosen for this review.

 

C4ST has major concerns about the makeup of the external panel the Royal Society has selected for this review. We have independently investigated the members selected to be appointed to the panel and have found that they are severely conflicted. As a result, their findings are likely to be pre-determined.

 

While the appointed panel is made up of esteemed scientists, published and academically qualified, some members have conflicting financial relationships with companies, industry associations, and lobby groups which are directly affected by the outcome of this panel review. In addition, others in some of their published material and statements demonstrate predetermined viewpoints indicating that they don’t believe evidence showing harm exists below the published safety threshold of Safety Code 6.

 

We are giving you this level of detail to underscore the urgency of meaningful reform, and to allow your voice to be heard. It is time for you to take action. Attached is the letter sent to Dr. Grise President of the Royal Society of Canada.
