Well, some things in the non-profit world don’t always happen when planned, but the Omaha Children’s Museum is proud to say that we will be hosting a grand opening of our Makerspace July 12th from 6-8 pm, and I want to extend an invitation to all members of the Omaha Makers Group, and their families to come and check out our space and make suggestions, and spend an evening making with us.  Then check out our newest temporary exhibit of giant robotic insects.

Admission the museum will be free for the evening event, and it shouldn’t be too crazy as admission will be for members and special guests.

If anyone is interested in showing off any amazing projects they are working on, we would love to have you.  You can email me at TSw...@ocm.org

Now that this long journey is finally wrapping up, but really just beginning, I look forward to having some extra time to actually get down and hang out with you guys at your new space.

Kick off summer with Omaha’s only Children’s Parade on May 25 followed by the grand opening of A Bug's World, the larger-than-life interactive exhibit featuring giant robotic bugs. Climb the Toadstool Tower and get eye-to-eye with a massive locust and go “underground” to get a bugs-eye view of a pair of giant, fighting beetles. Discover what it feels like to be ant-sized by crawling through a 40 foot ant hill and venture inside a caterpillar the length of a school bus! Then create your own butterfly and watch it take flight in the Butterfly Blower. Get buggy with us this summer in A Bug’s World!
