Our collaborative co-working space is ideal for projects large or small. We offer memberships and day-passes, depending on your needs.

This space is ideal for hobbyists and professionals who want to knock out those personal projects or make a permanent location for their business while lowering their overhead. Bench has a variety of the tools necessary to complete the wood, metal and crafts projects you are working on.

A friend of mine, Ben Petersen, owns bench.  It is definitely a for profit venture, primarily focused on carpentry and woodworking.  Very nice space though.

OMG is definitely the deal.

OMG is definitely the bargain, but we can't compete with the tools Bench offers.  And really, for-profit or not, that is still a really good deal compared with purchasing the tools for personal use.  If you wanted to get just a bit fancy, you could use every power tool in their list on a single piece of furniture - buying those tools yourself would be worth several years of membership.

With all this talk about OMG being a bargain, let me remind you that it IS a bargain, but only because of our members and their dues.  And with that in mind, please don't forget about our "$200 in 2 Months" challenge.  To date (the past 2 weeks), we have received about $65/month in new memberships.  We're 1/3 of the way there!!!!  Please, please read the note below and consider what role you can play in helping to continue the success of OMG:

Hey folks,

So Jason, Nick, and Eric have told you "what a bargain" it is to be a member of OMG.  While it truly IS one of the best deals among Makerspaces, the fact is, we need to pay our bills.  We can do that one of three ways:

     1) Get more members

     2) Get more folks paying $35 a month

     3) Raise our membership dues.

I think we can all agree that #3 is not desirable.  But #1 and #2 are certainly attainable.  To help do that, Kevin and Eric are going to help sponsor a little "contest".  To put it simply, we would like to increase our autopay subscriptions by $200 in the next 2 months.  If we achieve that goal, there will be 2 rewards!  First, Kevin and Eric will supply a pizza dinner for the December meeting, for all to enjoy.  Second, there will be a drawing at the December meeting for all members at the $35 subscription (autopay) rate, with the winner received a $35 gift card to the new Northern Tool store.

How can you help (and win)?

     1) If you are not currently a member, but have enjoyed being a part of OMG, please start a monthly membership subscription at whichever rate you are comfortable with.  Our goal is to increase our subscriptions by $200, be it (6) $35 subscriptions or (13) $15 subscriptions.

     2) If you are currently at our basic $15/month, please consider stepping up to a keyholder membership at $35/month.  If (10) people did that, we'd hit our goal immediately.

     3) Get your friends and family down to The Makery, and convince them to become subscription members, too!

And while it won't hit our goal, if you are currently a paying member but not using the PayPal subscription (such as cash/check or lump-sum payments), please also consider changing your payment over to the PayPal subscription service.  This gives us a clear picture of our monthly income, and makes budgeting a boat-load easier!

Your membership makes OMG a success.  We hope you can help us grow!  I've got a slice of pepperoni that says you can!

I would consider a partnership or reciprocal agreement with them for access to said tools. Besides the bargain you all have what they may not -- community. CCCKC moved to a FabLab for that reason and more, access to tools, bigger space etc... Awesome, must come visit Omaha!

I think the best thing about OMG is that its built from scratch. Seriously everything was built there by hand. Its awesome, moving in with a FabLab while wouldn't loose me as a member just wouldn't be the same. As much as I knock the guys for only building tools.. Its pretty awesome.
