Anybody interested in performing some obviously ill-advised experimentation?

Would be interesting (for someone) to try during meditation...

I'd like to try it while I'm doing SuperMemo reps.

I wonder how much voltage is actually required if you use a penetrating electrode like a fetal scalp electrode (as opposed to having to use gel, which is messy and must be cleaned out of hair).

If it's low enough with a good connection, you could probably use a coin cell or two with a simple constant current supply to make a self-contained rig that fits entirely in a variety of small packages (behind the ear, in an over-the-head headphone set, in an elastic headband, on glasses earpiece, etc).

Perhaps after you use the cap, you'll realize that it was a bad idea to begin with :)

I am thinking the LM334M would be a good choice. The regular LM317 won't be stable this low. The LM317L might work if you cherry-pick, but I would rather use something speced for that low current.

Anyone have research papers describing electrode placement? Some of the media articles mention it, but they are usually not specific or accurate.

Unless someone wants to build an fMRI we will probably need to guess a bit.

"Measure" is right!

I've looked at tDCS before, and concluded that I should not proceed without some means of measuring change (observing results).

Anybody got an EKG (maybe I mean EEG)?  Or some other ideas how to measure results?

Thank you in advance for your analysis!

Cheers,

Maybe we should draw straws for testing purposes.  No no...lets put an ad on Craigslist.  Clinical trials for cash!  That would be worth it just for the subject reactions when they step into the Makery. :)

I will admit, this is tempting, in a mad scientist sort of way.  :p

Here is a little light reading, for anyone interested

and search for it on here for several other articles.
