Aside from speaking with Dave about the sponsorship for our OlyBlogger of the year, I have done diddly squat on finding monthly sponsors. Keeping up with content production for OlyBlog has been difficult for me of late and actively working on something formal like a sponsor has seemed monumental. I think we should put a public call out for potential sponsors on OlyBlog first, that way we're speaking directly with those who already use it. I also don't have a clear idea of the sponsorship banner's size, where it will be, etc. Rick and I did discuss the creation of a moderator position, and we both thought it would require some sort of paid position. If we move forward with 501(c)(3) then I think we could create a position with a moderate stipend. If we work with advertising I propose we search out purely local sources for our advertisements and do not go the route of global internet advertising.
There's a social network ranking plugin that works with Drupal, and I don't think it would be a bad idea to run a test implemenation of it: SezWho.
I think we should also start talking about a strategy to willfully incorporate more areas under the switch to OlyMedia. For example, we could have pages with news feeds set up and running for Chehalis, Centralia, UW, etc. I do think tying our community into the connected environs would be a positive growth model for this project.
I think we should begin signing off on administrative actions such as disemvowelment and banner reminders. I also think we should sign off on pushing content to the front page as well as edits.
I hope this finds you all well, - Jason
P.S. Since Sarah's suggestion of keeping a log I am over 3 hours spent on one person alone.
OK. I blocked Chris' account. He is has and continues to suck up too much time of the docents, and there is no sign that he is changing his ways (he's already done the three-local-posts quarantine). Given that we've seen a much more placid blog since we started enforcing the hyperlocal constraint, I am basically unwilling to put up with anyone stirring the pot they way he does. So, unless anyone has a better idea, he's gone for good.
I suggest that we meet at 10:00 am at Traditions Cafe.

That makes it two for two on picking meeting places that are closed on Sundays. I'm here at Vita, in case anyone were thinking of coming to this meeting...

If docents just unpublish a comments without disemvoweling it, it isn't possible to tell if it was deemed unacceptable, or just caught by the filter (or is a new users who doesn't have comment privileges yet).
