I'm considering a VW for the next vehicle and solicit feedback about the
local dealer.

I tried to use them to sell my 3yr old used truck on consignment with the
promise that they would do all the advertising. I paid them $100 buck and
they never advertised it. They kept telling me that they were advertising in
next weeks truck trader. I know that doesn't have much to do with buying a
new car but it might tell you a little about their ethics. BTW - I took it
off their lot and sold it myself.

VW's are expensive to repair and you need to find the local, not dealer,
who knows their stuff about VW's to get the job done.
BTW, the Van is great!

Thank you. I received an anonymous reply telling about a world of
trouble with a Passat, but without some evidence of identity, I take it
with a grain of salt. Most responses I've seen in
rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled are positive on the later models.

I've had the same VW Rabbit for 16 years now. 15 of those years I
have used the same local repair shop: Gene Pyeatt's Service Center,
near 31st and Sheridan. How's their service? It's honest and
competent with lower prices than dealers. :-)
