A major obstacle is that the population of the OKC metro area is smaller
than the only metros under consideration. And did the Oklahoma City 89ers
draw big crowds?

If you draw a circle 50,70, 100 miles around OKC, you have a much
larger population. But nothing like the general Miami area.

So if you draw the same circles around Stillwater you find a very large
population, but Boone Pickens Stadium and frequently Gallagher-Iba Arena
doesn't get filled. It was far from filled for the big basketball game with
Texas, but the icy driving weather was the excuse as to why.
