What unit did Davidson serve? He may be a relative;I have not heard of the book, most I have are modern versions. I went to Perryville some years back, during a anniversary of the battle. We ate at the Inn with THE Colonel Sanders. Guess what the meat was?

According to the National Park Service's web site, Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System, Private Henry M. Davidson was also a member of Battery A, 1st OLA.  The battery was reportedly at Lawerenceburg, KY, on Oct. 8, 1862.  Lawrenceburg is about 30 miles north of Perryville.  No doubt the branch of Buell's Army that was up there hurried down to Perryville with news of the battle and Battery A was probably there by the end of the next day.  The history found in Dyer's Compendium states they were involved with the pursuit of Bragg's Army.
