28th regiment Fremont ohio reunion medal

Hello, I found a badge in my yard that says 28th regiment reunion Fremont, Ohio Sept 2 1897.
I tried to research a little but could not find anything.
can anyone help me out?

Must refer to the 28th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Many Regiments had annual
reunions after the Civil War. Your badge was obviously given to attendees
at the 1897 reunion in Fremont. A search of the Fremont newspaper archives
would confirm this. Odd to find something like that in your yard.
