If you are looking to keep costs down, check out the Hostelling International in the area.  I stayed at one while I was at GoGaRuCo last year and loved it.  Besides, whats value of a hotel room if you won't be spending any time in there anyway?

I'm willing to share my room, booked two doubles just in case. I'm staying downtown which is a short ~10 min light-rail ride to the convention centre (right across the street from New Relic). Also not sketchy like the area around the convention centre.

Looking forward to John's presentation since I missed it at the meetup. The whole lineup looks pretty awesome.
