First of all, R.I.P. "On Bunker Hilll." Thanks to all involved. I
enjoyed the 1947 project and On Bunker Hill and look forward to seeing
"in SRO Land." If I can help in any way shape or form I'd be happy to
assist with the new blog (web or logo design or an illustration here
or there if you like).

Secondly, in preparing to make some new paintings I took pictures of
Bunker Hill buildings from the site, created some mash-ups in the form
of collages and painted on top of them. It might be a fun challenge
to see if readers can recognize bits and pieces of the Bunker Hill
buildings I used.

The paintings can be found at www.robertdwatkins.com. paintings>2009
(top row). If you live around Pasadena you may recognize the
inspirations for some of the other paintings too.

Best,
Robert Watkins

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your kind words about the LA history blogs, and the link to your intriguing architectural mash ups.

I think there could well be a place for visual posts on the new inSROland blog, if you'd like to create images inspired by buildings within the footprint of our borders (see link below) and then write a little bit about how you research and work with the historic images.

Think about it, and send me an email directly at ams...@gmail.com if this is something you'd be interested in doing.

best regards,
Kim
