Here are a few sites that I enjoy. What are your favorites?

Los Angeles Time Machines retro restaurant roundup
http://www.latimemachines.com/

Which goes nicely with the LA Public Library's historic menu
collection

Laura James' Clews blog for coverage of decades ago crime

I'm sure I'll think of more, but let's start the conversation with
these.

The LA Public Library's California Index never fails to amaze me. Where else can you access a scanned brochure of the old Alligator Farm in Lincoln Heights?

Personally, I like the Lottalivin(g) message board, which keeps me up to date with all the preservation news...

I would be derelict if I didn't mention that my homepage is

I love this site, and quiver in anticipation at the fact that somewhere in, what, 2011, it'll get to my house:

Do I ever get tired of that smarmy-ass James Lileks?  I do not.

I'm a fan of you-are-here, esp. as it contains so many structures built in the last thirty years.

Anybody who has to ask why I geek out over this one don't know me very well, do he.

Ok, jeez, I could go on and on, so I'll just stop.  After one more.  Without the Hylen and Reagh and so many more pix in Sacramento, could I even go on?  Maybe, but I'd be a junior staff writer for Dirt, and worry about my 401k or something, and generally do whatever it is people do in this town, and then where would I be?

I thought the same thing so I went, totally expecting it to be Napoleonic BOP of 1814.  Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be the SIEGE of Paris from the Franco-Prussian conflict!  Do you think they gave me my nickel back?  I worked all day in the molasses mines for that nickel.

I reckon this will be a hit:
http://brblroom26.wordpress.com/

Room 26 Cabinet of Curiosities features new acquisitions, unique
documents, and visual and textual curiosities from the collections of
the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University. This
ongoing exhibition is curated by Tim Young, Associate Curator of the
Modern Books and Manuscripts Collection, and Nancy Kuhl, Associate
Curator of the Yale Collection of American Literature.

The Bonkers site reminded me of one of my favorite print journals, The Journal of Irrreproducible Results.
