++ MEETING LOCATION CHANGE, THIS WEEK ONLY
We will meet, 12 noon, this Wednesday, Independence Day in the year of
our Lord, 2012. However, Italiano’s restaurant will be closed so we
will meet at Chen’s Buffet which is located in the Windsor Hills
shopping center, NW 23 and Meridian in OKC. We will have pocket
Constitutions which have the Declaration of Independence in them for
everyone that comes, as long as they last. We will have a time of
discussion and if time permits, we may show the 12 minute DVD, They
Pledged Their Lives, Their Fortunes and Their Sacred Honor by Paul
Harvey.
Speaking of that pledge by those 56 courageous Founding Fathers, one
thing for which they didn’t pledge all their earthly possessions,
their lives and their sacred honor, was to create a tyrannical federal
government that would some day pass a law that required citizens to
purchase health insurance and if they didn’t, then they would penalize
(opps I mean tax) those citizens.
A few years after signing the Declaration, after a long 8 year war of
Independence, they didn’t create a government with 3 branches to have
an Imperial Court of Supremes rule on laws while ignoring the intent
of the framers of the law. In addition, they didn’t sacrifice so some
supremes preferring the concept of a democracy (its not our job to
protect the citizens from their political decisions-words of Roberts)
over the concept of adjudicating to up-hold the Constitution, the
highest law of the land which is the essence of a Republic.
Roberts, in all of his arrogant high mindedness has forever tarnished
his once good name. The number one victim of this horrible decision is
LIBERTY! Our founding fathers laid it all on the line for what they
recognized as rights given by God, of which 3 were mentioned and they
were the right to Life, LIBERTY and Property (we get to pursue
happiness by owning and controlling our own private property).
John Roberts (I can’t even begin to call you a Justice) unless you
were to come with your tail between your legs, a bowed head and tears
flowing from your eyes, I would never dream of you attending an OCPAC
meeting, we have quality people attend our meetings. I don’t even know
if you are good enough to sit on a stool in a corner with a dunce cap
on your pointed little head. You are a disgrace to Independence day
and therefore you should spend the day in the darkest closet in your
home. May your panties get into a wad you coward. Now that I got that
off my chest I “feeeeel” so much better.
While his ruling was horrible, it is not without remedy. This will be
a political boon to the Republican party. Mitt Romney and the
Republican leadership are all vowing to repeal Obama care. Because the
Supremes declared the penalty to be a tax, then the Senate rules
declare tax issues aren’t necessarily subject to filibusters because
tax issues can be treated as a budget reconciliation measure and
therefore only a simple majority is required to move something through
the Senate.
If Mitt wins and the Republicans take control of the Senate (I believe
Republicans will end up with between 54 to 57 Republican Senators)
then the Congress and a new President could end up abolishing
Obamacare on day 1 or 2 at the latest after they are sworn in. If they
have a majority and don’t do everything in their power to abolish that
horrible law, then I am not so sure I will want to be a Republican any
longer.
++ WILL GOV MARY DO THE KNEE JERK DANCE WITH STATE CHAMBER?
This past Friday’s Oklahoman had a full page article regarding the
Supremes ruling on Obamacare. The article included comments from
players in the state of Oklahoma. Most interesting was the comments
from Fred Morgan, President of the State Chamber of Commerce. His
comment is as follows:
“We are extremely disappointed in this decision. This is exactly what
we feared when we formed the Oklahomans for Free Market Health
Solutions coalition last year to help support an Oklahoma based
solution to the federal exchange mandate in the ACA. We now face a
situation where a health insurance exchange crafted by bureaucrats in
Washington, D.C. will now be forced upon Oklahomans. We cannot let
this happen and MUST TAKE SWIFT ACTION (emphasis mine) to create a
private sector driven health insurance marketplace in order to avoid a
federally mandated system.
Fred Morgan, President of the State Chamber”
Notice the knee jerk reaction by Fred and the boys at the Chamber, his
comments were actually given on the day the decision came down for it
to be published in the next day’s Oklahoman. If Fred will stop bopping
around his office with his LEFTIST knee jerking up and hitting his
LEFTIST elbow, then he may realize the end is not yet and no swift
action is necessary at this time.
So far Governor Fallin hasn’t joined Fred in his knee jerk dance and
hopefully she won’t. The Republican Governor’s Association has urged
Republican governors not to give in to the decision and don’t have a
knee jerk and create a state health care insurance exchange.
Wisconsin’s Governor Walker, Florida’s Governor Scott and Louisiana’s
Governor Jindale have all been on national TV programs saying that
they weren’t going to create these health care exchanges. Even U.S.
Senator Coburn has urged our state not to create one of these
exchanges at this time, even though earlier in the year he urged
lawmakers at the legislature to do so.
Early in the session this year many grass roots organizations asked
their members to contact their Senators to urge them not to create one
of these exchanges. About 25 of us went to the Capitol to talk with
these Republican Senators. Though a good number of them were on board
with creating an Oklahoma exchange, others were not. I had a lengthy
conversation with Senator Stanislawski, the main point man in the
Senate on this issue.
We discussed the various options based on future events. We recognized
there was a possibility that the Supremes would find the mandate part
of the law unconstitutional which would be good. Another possibility
was that the Supremes might find the mandate could not be severed and
thus the whole law might be thrown out and that would be better.
We also discussed that none of that might occur, but the next event
would be the Presidential election with a Republican being elected to
the office and in addition a Republican majority could exist in
Congress. One thing we didn’t discuss was that because the penalty has
now been ruled a tax, that a super majority of 60 in the Senate
wouldn’t be necessary which is really good.
The final thing we discussed is if all that failed would we then call
for a special session to craft our own exchange or would this be the
place where the State of Oklahoma draws a line in the sand and says to
the federal government no way. This law is not a part of the
enumerated powers given to the federal government as expressed in
Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution and therefore the
Supremacy Clause in the constitution doesn’t apply here and therefore
we aren’t going to comply!
I will be honest, I don’t know if this is the legislation to draw a
line in the sand and say no more or not, but I urged a lot of Senators
that day to consider if there ever would be a place we would stand up
to the tyranny of the feds and say NO MORE! If not, I urged several
Senators to practice bowing their little heads and getting down on
their knees and offer their necks to the thug boots of the tyrannical
federal government, because we are headed for near total control over
the state and the lives of the people of Oklahoma. I don’t know about
how others think in these regards, but it is not in me to just go
along to get along until we all slide of the cliff to the place of
full blown control of our lives. I love liberty too much for that.
Fred, the Chamber, and the Oklahoman, which has editorialized in sync
with Fred, need to calm down, maybe they could listen to the sounds of
a bubbling stream and wait until the November elections to determine
what will be the next step. More and more it appears to me that the
editorial page of the Oklahoman is little more than the PR mouth piece
for the central planners at the Chamber who seem to be quite
comfortable with a fascist philosophy of capitalism rather than free
market capitalism.
++ ANNOUNCEMENTS
* SATURDAY MORNING - STATE CAPITOL - A group of leaders have
hurriedly organized a rally on the South steps of the State Capitol
from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. this Saturday morning, July 7th to make a
strong statement that Oklahoman’s do NOT want Obamacare. We amended
our State Constitution in 2010 to protect our citizens from being
penalized for non compliance. There will be several excellent
speakers, so bring your lawn chair, umbrellas or hats and sunscreen
and join together to tell our state lawmakers and Governor to grow a
stiff spine and stand up to the feds!!!
Given that most all of the low hanging fruit has already been picked,
we actually had a fairly good primary election outcome last Tuesday. I
don’t want to divulge the details until after the primary run-off
races are over. We are now entering into the general election stage of
this year’s political season. Let me just say, there are several very
good candidates to support and I want to urge folks who have not yet
joined OCPAC to please consider doing so at this time. Almost all of
your dues go directly into the campaigns of these good candidates or
are used in our accountability efforts. We are currently at 224 dues
paying members which is 7 higher than we had for the year of 2011.
Instructions on how to join will follow my sign off. Thanks to
everyone for your support.
I look forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday
