We need to reach a consensus about what the important boundaries are. We're there (or close) with some issues such as drug/alcohol use at OA. A lot of us need some help recognizing other boundary issues that harm the group: intimidation, domination, unilateralism, interrupting, name calling, and other forms of oppression (that we may not always recognize because we belong to one or more privileged classes). It's easy to become a B.A. in a GA when important conflicts surface and people get emotional. We can remind each other of the need to respect the boundaries we agree upon and build a strong container for conflict. (We're not in the movement expecting everyone to agree with us about everything.) Training, role-playing, modelling, etc. will make us more effective in the kind of boundary-setting behavior that Sarah Robinson describes.
