In 1973, a group of local residents and
activists founded the Jamaica Plain Tenants Action Group, ultimately
becoming City Life/Vida Urbana. In the forty years since, CL/VU has been
defending community, building leadership, and creating a better world. It
is this combination of direct action, legal advocacy and defense, and
leadership development that has made City Life a prominent voice in the
local and national conversations around housing rights.

It is in this spirit that we invite you to celebrate with us. The event
will reflect on and celebrate the past forty years of organizing, as well
as setting a trajectory for the next forty years of building a movement. We
look forward to seeing you there!
