Hello all,
Rosa here... extending an invitation, to a very special evening...
*Acting on Hope and Courage:* *an evening with Hattie Nestel,
anti-nuclear activist and member of “Shut it Down” affinity group.*
Hattie will be sharing with us her inspiring stories and experience as an
activist. Her affinity group, Shut it Down, has engaged in civil
resistance on twelve occasions since 2005 in continuing efforts to shut
down the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant in Vernon. Members are all
women, between the ages of 42 and 94, who repeatedly risk arrest in their
efforts to protect the public from the dangers of nuclear power. Hattie is
also very knowledgeable about the safety issues involved in nuclear energy
production, as well as the possibilities of safe energy alternatives.
