This is a very weird issue and I need to run it by you guys

Client's users has a bunch of reports in folders (both Shared and User), not really organized very well, when you open the folder in a browser ( Firefox, IE, Chrome).  You can only see the report to a specific letter P sometimes S, depending on the items.   My diagnosis is

May be there is a limitation on the size or items in a folder by the application or there is a browser limitation.

My suggestion to the customer is to organize the folder and have more nested folders however they seems reluctant to go down that route.

This issue doesn't persist in Obiee 10.

Opened an SR with Oracle, waiting to hear back from them.

Any suggestions from you guys will helpful.

Thanks,

Christian,

I did read those parts in the OBIEE documentation however that didn't work. I did get it working actually by adding two parameters in the instancesconfig file.

<MaxSearchResultItemsToReturn>1000</MaxSearchResultItemsToReturn>
 <UserPickerDialogMaxAccounts>1000</UserPickerDialogMaxAccounts>

Thank you for your help!

Alok,

This might be a leap or it could be a solution.  I haven't actually seen this issue before but take a look at

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/bi.1111/e10541/prescatadmin.htm#BAJBHDIC

More specifically,
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/bi.1111/e10541/prescatadmin.htm#BAJFEJBI

I'm not sure of the full impact there so test wisely before implementing (should go without saying).

I agree with the reorg of the folder structure.  Especially if the client upgraded from OBIEE 10g that is the perfect opportunity to (1) redo any security remodeling since application roles are "in da house" and (2) Clean up and clean house on reports dashboard that aren't in use, etc.

Cheerio,
Christian
