OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 patching issue on Linux 64 Bit.

Hi All,

We have  OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on oracle 64 bit Linux. ours is horizontal scaling environment. I applied  OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2Bp1 patches. After applying patches  OPMNCTL is not starting. I posted my question in OTN not much luck there.

I am getting the following error.

Response: 1 of 5 processes started.

Is anybody in the same-boat like me. Please share your inputs.

Did you apply the patch as the same user who runs OBIEE? 

Can you run the following commands, and post the output: 

id
ls -l /u01/app/oracle/obiee11g/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/web/bin/sawserver

Hi Venkat,

Locate for .lok files in instances folder and rename them or just delete them, you should found two lok files (\servers\adminServer\tmp\AdminServer.lok and the under bi1_server folder something like bi1_server.lok).

and then restart all the services. It should work...

Hi  Robin,

1) I ran the patches as a OBIEE user only
2) The out put is

--rw-r--r-- 1  oracle oinstall 1179980 sep 23 23:32 /u01/app/oracle/obiee11g/oracle_BI1/bifoundation/web/bin/sawserver.


I am wondering why after applying patches it is changing permission on the folders as non excutables ??

Can you try  stop all services and re-deploy(in EM --> deployement) the rpd and webcatalog and start all services.

Give 775 to your OBIEE installation.

After your run ./opmnctl startall , goto EM and start all from there. That should fix the issue.
