Hello,

Does anyone know of any issue with Oracle 11gR2 11.2.0.1 db (specific dot release version) and OBIEE 11.1.1.5?

Thanks!

Hi, We have same infrastructure for OBIEE 11.1.1.5. No issues noticed as of now. Its been three months since the installation.
Also, Oracle 11g database offers very good features that you can utilize.

Thanks, Praveen.

Hi Praveen,

My question was to do with PLM Analytics 331 as per documentation it supports 11g r2 11.2.0.1. But Oracle support confirmed that it also supports the 11.2.0.2 version.

Are there any specific 11g database features you recommend exploring for OBIEE 11.1.1.5?

Thanks!

The PLM Analytics uses ODI for Data Integration  (unlike BI Apps)....
With ODI the DB features can be exploited more than with Informatica...
Thanks

Shyam, any specific 11g db features to tune that you know of for ODI?

Thanks!

ODI uses set-based loading techniques. In general, you'll want: parallelism and PGA memory.

As a minor glossing over: set parallel_degree_policy=auto and use memory_target, and you should be fine.

I meant more from usability perspective... such as you can use Total Recall feature of Oracle DB with ODI for creating change capture (CDC) as a alternative to GoldenGate, when you have near real time data integration needs or when the source OLTP system does not have a robust change capture mechanism like create date, update date in all tables.

Thanks

Jit, One item we did is to enable the property "STAR-TRANSFORM-ENABLED" to true. Enabling this helps Oracle to use BITMAP indices. However, you are best judge to know if BITMAP should be used or not for the type of data in the respective table.

We are using OOB OBIA 7.9.6.3 and enabling this improved performance of the dashboards.

Thanks, Praveen.
