[Obi-devel] OBI release 2008-05-30 and proposed schedule for following releases

The new OBI release is now available at
http://purl.obofoundry.org/obo/obi.owl.
Release notes have been updated and are available at
http://purl.obofoundry.org/obo/obi/release-notes.html.
Branches files have been corrected and committed into the trunk.
We would like to propose the following schedule for future releases:
The release of OBI will take place the last Friday of every month (has
been added to the OBI calendar)
1. Wed dev/coordinator call (T-10 days)
Reminder that release process is starting. Remind that snapshot to be
taken Monday. Ask for a little TLC on branches part to make release smooth
- extra checks, attention to reports, etc.
2. Monday morning: (T-5 days)
Lock files
Run check for missing ids and repair.
Create release directory based on Friday release date. SVN copy current to
release.
Unlock files
Get svn log and send to coord, devel asking them if there are any changes
they want to highlight in the release notes, due Thursday.
3. Mon-Thurs
Create new OBI id purls
Do rest of QC for OBI file and associated generate files (lsw report, OBI
pages, etc)
Apply necessary fixes to both release copy and trunk.
4. Friday (last of month)
Create final release notes
Final release check by Alan/Melanie/James
Create release purls
Send announce to coord, devel, users saying we have a new release.
Push/announce new release to other repositories that have a copy of OBI.
