Our meeting tomorrow is on the Linux Boot Process presented by Aaron
Toponce.

Don't forget we are meeting at the Davis campus [1] of Weber State
University! It is two minutes from I-15. We are meeting in room 105
from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

P.S. My wife had our baby this week so I really hope to be there
tomorrow, but I may have to bail last minute. Our VP, Kevin, will
conduct if that happens.

Quick meeting recap.

Aaron gave a great presentation on how Linux boots. I felt I was
already pretty familiar with the subject and still learned a few
things yesterday. Thanks, Aaron.

The location change didn't have much impact on attendance, so next
month we'll be back to our regularly scheduled room at WSU.

I enjoyed the presentation. Does Aaron have any slides with the info?
That could come in handy. Looking forward to the next meeting. Odd
question, the new iphone is out and I am wondering if there is an
emulator you can install on it that will run a light weight linux.
That might be wishful thinking but had to ask.

on what level do you want to emulate linux? the OSX kernel is a
ancestor of BSD and thus Unix, kinda distant cousin to linux. Just
like the Mac Desktop, the iPhone is very familiar to any linux user,
and especially powerfull to those who dont mind some basic shell
scripting. all the data is stored in sql-lite databases that anybody
can write to so the amount of custom apps and mods are endless. you
can easily install web servers, ftp servers, ssh servers, etc against
the BSD style OSX kernel already n the iPhone.

In that case, I'll just install apps on my iphone when I get it. Damn... July 11 is a while to wait. hahaha I don't wanna wait!

Thanks for the info.
