OAK Members,
The Conference Committee is beginning to plan our meals for the 2012
Conference. If you or your farm have food to donate, please let us
know. We currently have beans and sweet potatoes and some breakfast
goodies, along with an array of goods from Organic Valley (brats,
yogurts, cheese, etc.), all on the donation list.
Alternatively, last year, we accepted donations from many places and
farms, while buying some essentials (condiments) as well as paying for
our salad. This year, we need to be consistent with donating vs
buying food. So here's my suggestion:
If you have a food that could be used at the conference, let us know.
If you'd like to donate it, say so, and if you'd like to be paid for
it, let us know what price you need. We'll get back to you with what
we can afford/what we need.
For example, I'd say this:
"Hi, My name is Brian Geier, and I'm a member of OAK. I have
Sauerkraut that can be used for the Conference meal. I'd like to make
a donation with it, but unfortunately, I have to at least cover costs,
so, I can provide quart jars for a reduced price of $5 a jar. Let me
know if you can use this, and how many you'd like."
The meal we are planning will be for around 200 people.
