Hi, given that Chch meetups are getting started (yay), it has prompted
me to voice a plea/rant about how we use meetup.com that has been
brewing for months.
1) Please don't just use "NZPUG [City]" as the meeting name
(unverified assertion) The acronym NZPUG doesn't have any relevance to
people outside of NZPUG. It might better if we change the meeting name
to either talk title & speaker name, or move to "[City] Python
Programming Meeting". That has much better SEO and is clearer to
people who are unfamiliar with the user group.
2) Fill in event descriptions
We have nearly 200 people who receive emails directly from meetup.com.
Many of those are unlikely to be signed up to this mailing list.
Therefore, please try to make sure that the event description field is
filled in. The site is likely to be the primary channel for newcomers.
3) Add multimedia
Imagery is important. Let's get some photos up from the event.

I've signed up at meetup.com and joined the group. What's the next
step? Email you each time I want to put up a new ChCh meetup? Get some
sort of access to be able to do that myself?
Perhaps an off-list email with instructions would be the right way to
do this. Thank you!
