Google Summer of Code (GSOC) is a annual programme that gets talented
university students working on and loving open source code. This year
SilverStripe CMS has been accepted, meaning students anywhere in the world
can be paid to help make our CMS better, just in time for our major 3.0
release. We're proud a NZ project has been accepted given there are quite
limited slots.
There's 180 open source projects in GSOC this year so there's many
opportunities in PHP and other programming languages.
Students have from March 26 to April 6 to make their application. There's a
little over 1000 students expected to be involved this year.
If you're very familiar with one of the open source projects in GSOC, you
can alternatively apply to be a mentor to one of the students.
