Might be able to drum up a presentation of Robotlegs, or of using
Hudson and Antennae as a CI. Hoping FB4 does away with the need for
Antennae however, but then flex 3 wont die too quick with the
dependency on player 10. Anyone interested in either topic?

Nice work dude. I know a few people are touching on the 3d
(papervision) work in NZ at the moment. So there might be interest in
this topic if you would like to show some work:) Would anyone out
there in NZFUG land like to see more?
Thanks for the offer of the location. We will probably take you up on
that offer early next year for the next meetup (will contact you off
list about that)

I have been hearing a lot about Robotlegs lately. It is sounding very
popular.A short "this is what it does and here's how to do it" demo
might be a good one :)
Ill ping you soon.
Cheers

I like the sound of both the PV3D stuff and Robotlegs if its possible to
squeeze both in.
For the 3D stuff, if anyone's able to provide an up to date
comparison/review of the different 3d libs (pv3d, away3d, others?) I would
personally find that very useful, although perhaps others have seen that all
before. Is anyone able to do this, and do others want the same?

Id be keen on Robotlegs myself. Also as im currently working with
Papervision and loving it would be keen to hear more. Im not yet able
to share what I am working on, otherwise would have offered it up
myself.
The next Auckland Flex Usergroup meeting will be held on the 11th of
November, with thanks to Natcol for providing the location for the
meetup. For specific details please see http://fxugnz.eventbrite.com
First up I would like to introduce Mitch Olsen from SmallWorlds.com.
Mitch will be speaking about the experiences of growing Smallworlds
from idea to product. Were trying something a bit different with this
one, and its a great chance for the more business oriented of you, or
if like the rest of us, you have had a great idea and have considered
taking it to market. Come prepared with questions as this will be a
unique chance to ask the hard questions and hear answers from someone
who is walking the walk.
Next up we welcome back Rasheed Abdul-Aziz. When not taming mapping in
Flex and GIS data he wrestles with live frameworks and evaluates them
against his impossible standards. This weeks installment is a newcomer
Robotlegs. Listen as Rasheed dispels pearls of wisdom, and saves you
the evaluation time of Flex frameworks which *could save you hours per
day ;)
Please register @ http://fxugnz.eventbrite.com, I would hate to have
to take all the beer back to my place to drink ;). No really please
register... Ill get in trouble if I bring the beer home again.
As always I will be available on the day on 021 767 247
Also this will be a great chance to introduce Tanya Gray. She will be
an evil minion helping to organise me and crack the whip to get more
of these happening :)
Cheers all
Campbell
* saving are estimated based on the user using a 486 computer with
monochrome screen.
Just another friendly reminder we have the Auckland Meetup on
Wednesday.
Looks like we have a good mix of old and new faces which is great. If
you haven't registered please do. It would be sweet to catch up with
you all and have a quiet beer before the mad Xmas season hits.
Again we have two very different topics. One a more experience based
presentation from Mitch Olsen as he tells the tales of SmallWorlds
growth, and the other a more technical one offering insights into a
new (and very talked about) AS3 framework. As always beer and nibbles
will be provided.

One last minute change to the lineup. Rasheed had a family emergency
and is unable to present on the Robotlegs framework. Stepping in to
fill his boots will be Tanya Gray, a new comer to the group, and I am
more than sure shes up to the task. She will be showing how you can
use Flex resource files in your applications.
So again if there are any problems I am contactable on 021 767 247
Hope to see you all there.
Cheers

Thanks for a great meetup tonight. Great to see some new faces, and
some well known ones :) And a big thanks to Mitch Olsen and Tanya
Gray. Both great presentations.
For those of you who want to check out smallworlds www.smallworlds.com,
a great example of Flex being pushed to the limits, while still
keeping the eye candy abundant.
