Gisborne ("The first city to see the sun"): Gateway Family Camp 28th
December 1999 - 1st January 2000. "A venue where the national and
international Christian community can gather for a time of prayer, teaching,
and celebration as they welcome in the new millennium." Registration fee.

31 January (Friday)
The Domain, Auckland: Free outdoor performance of Handel's 'Messiah' by the
combined choirs of the Auckland churches and the Auckland Choral Society.

Manukau: Celebration for all Christians in Manukau and beyond. Sports,
drama, music, acts, cultural events and more.

Christchurch: "Christus 2000" Day of Jubilee programme at the Catholic
Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Parishioners from Christchurch suburban
Catholic churches walk to the Cathedral for an evening Jubilee Mass. The
cathedral remains open all night to welcome anyone who wants to visit and
pray privately or join in occasional public prayers.

Christchurch: 'Joy to the World' concert, James Hay Theatre from 9pm Friday
