Many christian groups condemned the Family Planning Association for their Three Wise Men advert,
featuring three men walking away from the camera with packets of condoms in their back pockets.

Yet how many of those same christian groups have condemned Hallenstiens for their "three wise men"
advert? It features a bright star in the background reminiscent of the "star of Bethlehem", three
men wearing crowns, staring in adoration at a barbeque. The one on the left holds a 6 pack of tui
beer, the middle one holds a tomato bottle of presumably tomato sauce, while the third, the "right
hand man" holds a meat pack. They are all wearing, presumably, Hallenstiens clothing. The caption
underneath says "It's good to be a guy". Isn't this an exploitation of the "three wise men" for
commercial reasons, commercialising "christmas"?

So why don't the christian groups complain? Oh, that's right, they practice hypocrisy, and while
it's okay to commercially exploit "sacred" images, it is not okay to use "sacred" ideas to promote
safer sex. Now why is that?

You're right. Both adds are portraying exactly the same message - the
combo of Hallenstiens clothing and tui beer is just as good a
contraceptive as any condom.

:-) Well done.

I have never understood what is wrong with safe sex (from a christian
perspective that is).

You're in good company. There is only one church that I know of that

otherwise intelligent men can continue to hold it.

Theopolitics?
No, I have never heard of it before, I just made it up.

Oh well, I thought it was amusing at the time.

Happy Saturnalia/summer-winter solstice/Christmas to you all and have a
great new year.
